The Telecommunications Carriers' Forum (TCF)

The Telecommunications Carriers' Forum encourages the efficient provision of:

  • Regulated services consistent with the Telecommunications Act 2001, and
  • Non-regulated telecommunications services, in order to promote competition in telecommunications markets for the long-term benefit of end-users of telecommunications services in New Zealand.

Commerce Commission - Telecommunications

The Telecommunications Commissioner's role (at the Commerce Commission)  is to:

  • Make determinations on disputes between access seekers and the access providers for designated services
  • Undertake costing and monitoring activities relating to the Telecommunications Service Obligations
  • Recommend to the Minister the desirability of regulating additional services or amending the regulation of services
  • Propose and approve codes of conduct applicable to the industry.
