In recent weeks the value of Chorus shares has fallen dramatically and we feel that you should hear from us directly about what has transpired and perhaps more importantly what your Board and management team is doing to preserve and restore value in Chorus.

Addressing the myths

You may have read or heard some misinformation about Chorus in recent weeks. The following is our response to some of the myths we have been asked about:

Listing information

Chorus has issued 396,369,767 ordinary shares and we are listed under the ticker CNU on the NZX Main Board in New Zealand and the ASX in Australia.

In the United States, our American Depositary Receipts trade on the over-the-counter (OTC) market under the ticker CHRYY.

Share Registry

Chorus' share registrar in New Zealand and Australia is Computershare.

Shares for good

Shares for Good has been established to provide a charitable home for unwanted shares and a place for those wanting to sell shares to benefit charities in New Zealand.

Many people have small shareholdings that are more bother than they are worth, keeping or selling.

Shares for Good is a pro-bono collaboration between JBWere, NZX, Computershare and Link Market Services. 100% of proceeds from the sale of your shares goes directly to the recipient charity.

Euro Medium Term Notes

Chorus Limited has established a Euro Medium Term Note (EMTN) programme, guaranteed by Chorus New Zealand Limited. Chorus is listed, and the EMTNs issued under that programme are quoted on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. As of January 2012, Chorus had issued a total of GBP259,823,000 EMTNs comprising:

  • Series 1, Tranche 1: GBP234,823,000 6.75 per cent Notes due 6 April 2020 (ISIN XS0710033969)
  • Series 1, Tranche 2: GBP25,000,000 6.75 per cent Notes due 6 April 2020 (ISIN XS0710033969) and consolidated with Series 1, Tranche 1.

25 July 2014 - Chorus amends committed back facilities and dividend update

Chorus has today agreed amendments to its committed bank facilities, providing significant additional financial flexibility and funding certainty.
