Ellen Coup
Ellen is an artist with over a decade of experience practising in Wellington. She makes work for exhibition and on commission.
Ellen describes her paintings as ‘contemporary realism’. Her works are a variety of sizes and shapes, but she enjoys making large work and favours slender rectangles. She has also developed an unusual format for circular paintings, the most recent examples of which are two works titled 'South Coast, Summer' and 'South Coast, Winter'.
Ellen holds a Diploma of Art and Craft design from Whitireia Community Polytechnic.
Since 2000, Ellen has been painting mural artworks around Wellington city. Indoor, outdoor, public and private, these murals range in size from over 250 square metres, to less than a square metre.
