Oamaru has a rich history and part of that is the famous Whitestone buildings.
Local artist Tracey Vickers used these as inspiration for her submission to our Cabinet Art Initiative this year and the result is pretty stunning.
Tracey says, "The imagery is focused on Weston and its surroundings. Oamaru stone - Parkside Quarries, fossils, farmland, a nod to heyday farming, sunflowers, grain crops, Weston's architecture and the native birds."
This can be found on Oamaru's Main Street and has appeared in the local media: https://www.oamarumail.co.nz/community/a-canvas-of-weston-offerings/
