Chorus services during lockdown

As New Zealand’s largest broadband infrastructure provider, Chorus plays a vital role in how New Zealanders access the internet in two main ways:
As the builder of the majority of New Zealand’s new fibre network as part of the Government’s decade long UFB (Ultra-Fast Broadband) infrastructure project.
As an operator of our existing copper broadband network and the newly built fibre network delivered as part of UFB.
Covid-19 lockdown now impacts the work we do in both areas, as our work requires technicians to visit a property or be out in the field at a time when social distancing and self-isolation is enforced.
For this reason, while internet access is a lifeline utility at this time, we will be suspending all non-essential field work to assist the Government objective of isolating people at home and eliminating the risks of spreading Covid-19.
The below provides a clear outline of what this means.
