Slow downloads, the buffering circle of boredom, sketchy Skype calls, and a ‘working from home’ experience that’s more frustrating than the office commute… these are all signs of a poor internet connection.
If this sounds familiar, then it’s time to think about switching to fibre.
Fibre broadband provides a fast, reliable and consistent broadband experience - here’s how.
There are currently 900,000 properties on our network that have a fibre connection ready and waiting.

Speed
The basis of any good broadband connection is speed - fibre can be up to 100 times quicker than an ADSL connection, helping you do more in a shorter space of time. On an ADSL internet connection, downloading a two-hour movie from a platform like iTunes can take longer than an hour. With fibre, the same download can take as little as five minutes - just enough time to grab a cosy blanket, pop the popcorn and brew a cup of tea.
Reliability
Slow speed is frustrating, and so is an internet connection that can't be trusted to perform when you need it most.
With fibre, you don't have to worry about suddenly finding yourself missing the winning penalty kick, or waiting for hours for the next episode to download. It provides a more consistent experience, no matter what time of the day you are online, or how many people are accessing the Internet at your place.
Capacity
Bandwidth is a term often used to describe the amount of information or data that can be handled by your broadband connection at any one time.
If your place has multiple internet users (especially heavy-duty users who are gaming online, working with large files or downloading videos) you’ll want a connection with high bandwidth - we recommend a gigabit data plan.
If you think that's more than you'll need, it's worth considering how many of your devices are actively connected to the internet. For homes with more than three devices online at once, 100Mbps should be the absolute minimum. Anything lower, and you'll find your broadband connection struggling to keep up.
