Inside boundary relocations
Fibre box (ONT) replacement
If your fibre box (optical network terminal) is missing or damaged, we can replace it. You should receive your new ONT within 2-4 working days.

Moving your fibre box (ONT)
If your location of your fibre box (optical network terminal) is inconvenient and needs to be moved during a renovation, we can make sure this is done safely and without damaging the device.

Cable relocation or undergrounding
Cables that have been located along a fence can be moved underground. Also current underground cables can be moved if necessary. The cost will depend on whether you need Chorus to dig the trench (soft surfaces only) or have dug one yourself.

Moving the exterior fibre box (ETP)
The exterior box for fibre can be temporarily removed if needed for renovations or recladding. This work usually takes about four hours.

Disconnection for demolition
If you are removing a house or doing extreme renovations, you can get the fibre disconnected. This will ensure records are correct and setting up a new service in the future is easier.

Outside boundary relocations
Undergrounding cable from outside boundary
You can request the relocation of network equipment that extends outside our property boundary, for example moving overhead cables underground.

Pole relocation or removal
Sometimes a Chorus pole - that supports our fibre or copper lines - is in the way of a major renovation or development. You can request the pole is moved or replaced and complete your build as planned.

Plinth relocation or removal
Planning a new driveway or subdividing your section? Create a request to move, replace or remove a Chorus plinth - a network component that houses fibre or copper connection points.

Manhole relocation or removal
Our network is made up of many components such as wires, fibre, ducts, cabinets and manholes. You can request the relocation of a manhole that provides access to our fibre and copper lines.
