Terms and Conditions

Chorus New Zealand Limited (Chorus, we, our) is the promoter of Upgrade your tech for school competition (Offer).

By providing your details and entering this competition, you acknowledge that:

• you have read and accepted these terms and conditions, and
• you authorise Chorus to collect the information you provide. We’ll treat that information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which may also include us [or our partners] contacting you with future updates that are relevant to you.

Who can enter

This Offer runs from Wednesday 1 March to 11.59pm on Wednesday 15 March, so you have until then to enter.
To be eligible, you must:

• live in New Zealand;
• must be aged 18 years or over to enter. If the entrant is under the age of 18, in order to be eligible for the prize a parent/guardian/billpayer over the age of 18 will need to [have a fibre contract or take out the fibre contract within three months] to accept the prize on the minor’s behalf
• not be an employee (or family member thereof) of Chorus or any partners associated with the Offer;
• be connected or able to connect to the Chorus fibre network – check that at https://broadbandmap.nz

Only one entry per email will be accepted.

Also note that we currently cannot credit Skinny and Bigpipe broadband accounts. If that’s you, you can still enter, but if you’re the lucky winner you’d need to switch providers to take advantage of the prize.

Prize

Two prize packs containing:

• A year’s free broadband worth $1,200
• Netgear EX6250-100AU AC1750 WiFi Mesh Extender valued at $189.99 (price as on Noel Leeming website 8/2/2023) or a similar priced and spec’d product if it’s unavailable at the time the prizes are drawn
• Google Nest Mini – Charcoal valued at $89 (price as on Noel Leeming website 8/2/2023) or a similar priced and spec’d product if it’s unavailable at the time its drawn
• Acer 14” Aspire 3 Intel Pentium Silver N6000 8GB RAM 256GB SSD Notebook valued at $999.99 (price as on Noel Leeming website 8/2/2023) or a similar priced and spec’d product if it’s unavailable at the time its drawn

Chorus will pay the total value of the fibre broadband prize ($1,200) directly to the winner’s current broadband provider to credit the winner’s broadband account, providing the winner’s address is connected to Chorus fibre or, if not currently connected to Chorus fibre, is connected to Chorus fibre within 3 months of winning the competition.

Please note: If the prize is out of stock or unavailable, a substitute prize of equal or greater value, or a Noel Leeming gift card of equal or greater value, will be awarded at Chorus’ discretion. No prize is transferable or redeemable for cash and none can be used in combination with any other promotions, vouchers or discounts.

How to participate

You can enter by [clicking the link in the email and entering all the required information in the dedicated competition entry form. The entry form will be promoted to recipients through one of the following channels:

• Chorus February Consumer Newsletter
• Chorus webpage, at chorus.co.nz
• Facebook promoted posts
• Instagram promoted posts

If you need to activate your fibre broadband connection on the Chorus network, get in touch with your preferred broadband provider.
You can compare available residential plans and providers online at comparison sites like www.broadbandcompare.co.nz. Alternatively, you can call the team at Broadband Compare on 0800 000 305. They can talk you through your options and even help you activate your connection. You can compare available business fibre broadband plans at business.nzcompare.com.

Determining the winner

A winner will be determined at random, drawn from all the entries on or before Monday 20 March 2023.

Chorus will notify the winner after the draw has taken place, on or before Monday 20 March 2023 by phone or email and within 10 days the winner must confirm whether they wish to claim the prize. If you are unable or unwilling to accept the prize, Chorus may award it to another entrant.

Winners must have provided a valid email, phone number and/or address as required by the entry form. If you accept a prize, you will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting the prize.

Chorus will arrange for the prize to be delivered to each winner.

General terms

• Chorus’ decision is final: Chorus’ decision in relation to [the winner, eligibility for participation or entry, or any other aspect of this Offer], is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

• Changes and cancellation: Chorus may modify these terms and conditions at any time without notice and reserves the right to cancel, suspend or change the competition for any reason (including, for completeness, where there is suspected fraudulent or invalid participation).

• Liability: To the extent permitted by law, Chorus and any other person or party associated with this Offer, will not be liable to you for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage, as a result of, or arising from, your participation in the Offer.

• Publicity: You agree to participate in publicity generated by Chorus (or Chorus’ marketing partners) and agree to the use of your name for promotional purposes without remuneration.

• Social: This Offer is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or any other social network. Chorus is not responsible for any acts or omissions of any such social network and has no liability to you for any information or data you provide to any social network as part of this Offer. You completely release Facebook, Twitter and any other social network from any and all liability in connection with this Offer.

• Platforms: You must comply with the terms of any platform used to participate in the Offer. Chorus and any other person or party associated with this Offer is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any platform, website service, equipment or programme used in or associated with this Offer.

• Invalid claims: Any request to enter or claim in relation to this Offer after its expiry will be deemed invalid. Chorus is not responsible for registration requests or claims that are not received, and any incomplete, illegible or fraudulent registrations or claims are not valid.

• Governing law: This Offer is governed by New Zealand law.
